Michael Wamback PM, our Officers Coach, is in the process of establishing a Mentor program at Sunset Lodge for those who wish to be considered for election as Master at a future date.

The goal of this program is to act as an extension of the Grand Lodge Leadership Retreats. Participants in the program will meet with our Officers Coach on a regular basis to study the Lodge Bylaws, the California Masonic Code, our initiatory ritual, lodge budget and finances, organization of social programs and membership development in our lodge. In addition, those participating in the program will be given the chance to learn skills in presiding over a Stated Meeting.

The goal of the program is to better prepare candidates for election and advancement to the progressive line as an elected officer, in order that their year as Master of Sunset Lodge can be as pleasant as possible for them, as well as to ensure that our lodge benefits from the highest levels of competency in leadership.

To qualify for this program, you need to be a Master Mason of Sunset Lodge in good standing, and have successfully delivered your 3rd Degree Proficiency.

Michael Wamback PM, our Officers Coach, will be hosting an orientation session at our lodge.  This session will be of great benefit to our newer members, and even our more senior members may learn something new.

Over the past year, Sunset Lodge has been blessed with a tremendous growth in membership.  As a result, we have lots of new members who may still be getting to know our lodge and fraternity.  This session will provide a look at our ritual and protocols in the lodge, the workings of our Grand Lodge, Masonic Jurisprudence and some of our lodge traditions.

Sunset Lodge will be hosting the first of our bi-annual Model Railway Shows in May.

Once again, Sunset Lodge #369 will be teaming up with Group 160 N-Trak, a local N-Scale model railway club to bring the sights and sounds of model trains to our lodge.  This even is very popular with our local community, as well as train enthusiasts.

Group 160 is a local N-Scale model railway club, and they will be constructing a layout that will fill our dining area.  N-Scale is growing rapidly in popularity, due to it’s smaller size allowing for a long more railroad in a smaller area.  The scale ration of N-scale is 1:160, and it derives its name due to the fact that the tracks are set 9 millimeters apart, and the word for 9 in almost every language begins with the letter “n”.

The Sunset Cinema Society will be screening the 1962 classic film, Lawrence of Arabia.

The Cinema Society will be screening the film in our dining area, which will be transformed into a theater for the evening. Our ever-popular canteen will be stocked with period refreshments.

So bring your family and friends to a fun evening of cinematic entertainment.

Sunset Lodge and members of our Cinema Society are in the process of shooting a film based on a Masonic play written by Robbie Robinson PM. The film will be shot at our lodge.

The Officers and Members of Sunset Lodge cordially invite you to attend our annual Sweetheart’s Brunch on Sunday, February 14th at 2:00 PM.  This year, our brunch will be hosted by Mike Messina, our Junior Warden.  A brunch will be served at 2:00 PM followed by entertainment in our Lodge Room.  Ladies attending will receive a long-stemmed rose.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Entered Apprentice degrees announced in the February/March Trestleboard for Tuesday, February 23rd will be rescheduled to a Tuesday in March.  Although it is tentative, we are anticipating that there will be first degrees in each of the Tuesdays in March, owing to the fact that we now have six new applications for degrees at our Lodge.

We hope that this does not cause any inconvenience to you.

Tuesday, February 23rd will now be a meeting between our Officers Coach and our Principal Officers.
